Caramel Pie
Ingredients:
2 3 eggs yolks, well beaten
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup hot water
9 inch prepared pie crust, baked
Method: Caramelize 3 tablespoons sugar in heavy
skill until dark brown. Add hot water. Set aside. Mix 1
cup sugar and flour together. Add beaten egg yolks, milk
and caramelized sugar. Cook in double boiler until thick.
Add butter and vanilla. Pour into 9 inch baked pie crust.
Cover with meringue. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees. |
