Bread
Sauce
Serves 6
Ingredients:
4cloves
1onion peeled
1bayleaf
1pt(550ml) milk
4oz(100g) fresh white breadcrumbs
1oz(25g) butter
½ teasp salt
freshly ground black pepper
½ teasp ground nutmeg
Directions:
1. Stick cloves into onion. Put in a pan with bay leaf and
milk. Bring to boil.
2. Remove pan from heat. Leaves to infuse 15 mins.
3. Add breadcrumbs, butter, seasoning and nutmeg . Cook
sauce over very low heat 15 mins, stirring occasionally.
Remove onion and bay leaf.
To serve now: put in serving dish, keep warm in
oven.
Freeze: cool. Pack in polybox, label. Use within 3
months.
To serve from freezer: thaw overnight, heat gently
in bowl covered with clear film set over pan of hot water,
Serve warm.
